AMERICA
The sun shines on a white
picket fence that rises
to meet the blue
sky, and on a red
rose whose green
stem rises out of the green
grass in front of the white
picket fence which — Yes, you've noticed it, too --
needs painting again.
Tomorrow, perhaps, we will paint it.
